Chapter 3 The Days After

Months and weeks passed by without any biggish stuff happening in my life until now. But today seemed off as I started my coffee machine and opened the newspaper phone app. Monday November 4 the day before the election was at the top of the page. As I sat down with my coffee and smartphone in hand. I heard an unexpected knock at the door. I of course looked through the little peephole and it was Brad. But what did he want?

As I slowly and quietly opened the door, I could by the redness in his cheeks and the puffiness of his eyes he was extremely upset. Without hesitation, I quickly wrap my arms around him and give him a comforting hug. I wrap myself in his embrace.

I ask him softly and kindly what happened and why did he look so gloom? I could see tears running down his face as he tells me he and his roommate had a huge argument, and he was scared he’d be homeless soon. Without thinking, I immediately said why don’t you move in with me? I can’t believe what I had just said and how brave I was for saying it.

He looked up at me and smiled and said are you sure?

I said of course we get along so well together; I have the extra space, and I love you. So why wouldn’t I help my man?

Oh my gosh I can’t believe what I was saying I am so excited I finally said it! I felt an unexpected swell of happiness fill me up inside and the bulge in my pants was just a bonus!

The look on Brads face lit up as all he could say was thank you, I love you more. You are now my safe space.

We slowly went inside my apartment as we planned on how to move his stuff to my home. I knew this new adventure of our romance was an exciting one, but I secretly was nervous about it.

Chapter 4 The Move in Plans.

The day after, when sadly I had to go to work, the thought of brad being my boyfriend brought pure bliss to my mind. I wanted my shift to end so bad so I could spend more time with him. But for now, I had to focus on making my customers happy in the shop. I was just cleaning the shop as I saw Brad face in the store window, was I imagining it or was this really happening? I smiled at him peering through the window and he came in and gave me a big, grand bear hug!

He excitedly said he talked to the landlord of the building and told him our idea. I was completely shocked as I wasn’t seriously expecting that. Shocked and excited I mean….

So…. I said, when does you lease end and when are we officially going to live together? What’s the plan?

At the end of November. Brad stated. I am so excited for this new adventure. I’m going to move my stuff slowly to not crowd the place. This is going to be the start of our lives together!

As he said that, negative thoughts filled my brain as I hoped we weren’t moving too fast… I loved Brad, but honestly moving in together did made me nervous.
