Can/should a web/ blog development site make you feel you have to only do business with them?

Aside from wordpress, am doing business with another blogging newer site. Whats urks me is the fact when i discussed my other websites he automatically shut me down and told me i should only work with him?

Should that automatically make me feel awkward cause I like to explore and try new things.
