The Case

Chapter 10

We decided to meet the following Tuesday at the coffee shop in the small town/city I was living in. Who knows, maybe this guy was not as bad as I thought and maybe there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding. I have been dealing with a lot lately with my anxiety and depression, so maybe that was it.

Was this all in my head or was I right all along???????

As I left my flat (apartment), I could see outside it was very cloudy and about to storm, the weather itself was giving me bad vibes and making me anxious.

I knew I had to go and meetup with this guy. As I approached the coffee shop, chills filled up all throughout my body. Upon entering I quickly chose the table by the window after ordering my coffee, I was curious to know if this guy was seriously going to show up?

Thirty minutes pass by quickly as I spotted a man on the other side of the room wearing a red dark shirt with blue pants and a jacket. He kept glaring at me like he knew me and wanted to grab my attention.

Unsure of myself I got up and walked towards this man. As I approached, I waved and asked if he was ok or needed anything. He immediately shouted at me angrily and asked if I remembered him?!?

“Well, he said, I am the masked singer, and we met the other day when I knocked at your front door. It does not matter. I should tell you more about me. With the case that occurred before, there was a misunderstanding, and I can tell you straight to your face I am innocent. I have noticed that you have been tracking me, and we have been communicating via email. I just think for both of our sakes we should discuss all that has been going on.”

With my utmost disbelief, I knew deep down I had to come clean with him, that I no longer collaborated with the detective agency and that I was fired because of him.

After explaining to him what had happened and that I no longer worked at the detective office.

I could see him smirk and grin as he told me:

“I knew I would ruin you and this is only the beginning…”
